Sir F. T. Piggott nas informed me that it is probable that he will remain in the East for sume time after mis retirement and has expressed the wish that the pension due on account of his service in Mauritius should be paid for the present in Hongkong.
2.
I have asked the Governor of Mauritius to for- -ward to you particulars of the pension, and I should be obliged if on receipt thereof the Crown Agents could be instructed to make arrangements to carry out Sir Francis' wishes.
3.
He is anxious in any event to receive some pay- -ment on account of the pension by the end of hay.
